"EPI-NO was brilliant for the birth of my second child in April. The first birth, sadly before I'd heard of EPI-NO, resulted in second degree tearing and lots of stitches. With following the instructions of EPI-NO to the letter, plus asking the midwife to support the perineum with hot washer and compression during delivery, I was able to produce a 4.1kg boy with no need for episiotomy or stitches. I was ecstatic and the midwives at Calvery hospital in Canberra were impressed."

" I successfully delivered my first child in 2003 with no stitches or tears, after training with EPI-NO. During my second pregnancy I was advised by my doctor that I'd need a Caesarean as my baby was in the breech position. I began training with EPI-NO anyway, to keep up the strength in my pelvic floor. Days before scheduled Caesarean my baby turned, which meant I could have a natural delivery after all.

I immediately stepped up my EPI-NO training before my scheduled induction. The second stage of my labour lasted only minutes, and I was able to push with confidence, knowing my perineum was ready. The midwives couldn't believe that I had delivered my son with not a single tear or graze! I'm so glad that I used the EPI-NO for both my pregnancies, and I'd encourage everyone to so the same, no matter what sort of birth they are expecting"

" Hi this is my epi-no story I bought it at about 37 weeks , 3 days before I was 38 wks and to my pleasant surprise when I first used it I could get to 7cm. At first I had to hold it in but as I blew it up bigger this was no longer a problem. Over the next three days I increased it to 10cm , 1cm a day , practising morning and evening.

As I blew it up I practised breathing and moving my hips around to ease the discomfort and these techniques I used in labour. And then to deliver the balloon I pushed gently on the out breath as I rocked forward in a standing position and as I felt it slip out I breathed it out widening my legs and going on tip toe as it came out . This practice I used during the birth too and it was excellent I felt the head crown and when it reached its widest point I breathed the head out , I needed no one to tell me when to pant and there was no stinging on my perineum .

I really felt the epi-no helped especially for the delivery of the head and if this was used for a first birth and you had no stinging it would certainly give you confidence for future births. Also realising how the balloon stretched the perineum would give confidence for delivering the head .And feeling the balloon inside is useful for developing coping techniques, with breathing and body movement"

"Like most woman, I was desperate for a natural birth, but couldn’t help but be nervous for the actual event.  Using the Epi-No, while practicing my breathing, allowed me to familiarize myself with some of the sensations I was to experience while giving birth.  My labour went smoothly.  My baby boy was born in two hours and no needlework was required!  I would recommend the Epi-no to all first-time moms"
